Any Android phone will work as a timelapse controller, but this model has been specifically tested in the field. It is a bit slow, which means very low power consumption and exceptionally long battery life — making it an excellent choice for solar panel powered deployments.

Dummy Battery (DC Coupler)

A dummy battery replaces your camera's standard battery and provides continuous external power, eliminating the need to swap batteries during long-term timelapse projects. Essential for unattended deployments where the camera must run 24/7.

Connect the dummy battery to a power bank or AC charger with PD (Power Delivery) fast charging interface. PD ensures stable voltage output and enough wattage to keep the camera running reliably under load.

USB-C Charger — Multi-Port PD with Independent Voltage Negotiation

Use a USB-C charger with at least 2 PD ports that support independent voltage negotiation — each port must be able to negotiate the correct voltage separately, so the phone and the dummy battery each receive the power they need without interfering with each other.

Choose a model with a detachable power cable rather than a built-in plug. This way the cable can pass through a waterproof cable gland in the weatherproof case, keeping the charger inside the enclosure while the mains connection stays outside.

Reusable Silica Moisture-Absorbing Pack

Place one or more 100g desiccant packs inside your camera housing to protect equipment from humidity and condensation. A color-changing indicator turns pink when the pack is saturated and needs recharging.

Fully reusable — recharge in the microwave (5 min), oven (25 min at 150°C), or on a radiator (1–2 days). Use multiple packs for extended protection in high-humidity environments.
